Roulette is a well known casino game, popular worldwide, also known as “the game of the gods”. It is played on a Roulette board, a square table with ten arms, each of which is spinned around a central wheel. Roulette was first known to the Greeks and Italians, but it was brought to the attention of the English in the late eighteenth century.
Roulette is played by a single player or a team of players seated around a table. Each player can place any number of bets that will be rolled off the Roulette wheel. There is no strategy involved in this casino game. The outcome of the Roulette betting table game depends entirely on the luck of the Roulette dealer spinning the wheel and the movement of the ball through the casino’s channels. One can attempt to alter the path of the ball and thus stop the dealer from spinning in the desired direction. However, if the aim is to stop the ball, the bets have no value and all of them are considered as losses.
Roulette is played on a continuous wheel, not a changeable wheel. When a new wheel is put in place, all previous wheels are canceled and the new one starts. This means that for all intents and purposes, a player cannot change the numbers on the Roulette board, nor can they predict the direction of the ball, unless they happen to be sitting at the very back of the dealer’s table. The only way to influence the outcome of a Roulette bet is to choose numbers in the place of the ones already selected on the dealer’s table. In some cases, the player may place bets on the floor of the casino, but that is not an option for all players.
The basic layout of the Roulette wheel comprises a number of smaller squares called “cars” which are spinned around the center wheel. The actual arrangement of the cars on the Roulette table can be different for various reasons. For instance, in the small casinos of France, the layout of the cars is arranged in a way that does not include any diagonal lines between the cars, nor any vertical lines between the car-wheels. All the elements of the wheel need to be arranged in a specific way so that it will follow the path that the Roulette ball must travel on.
Roulette is not a game of chance, and there is never a “lucky” card or number that will cause a Roulette player to win. To play roulette, you must be able to forecast the movement of the Roulette ball, and decide whether to raise or fold before it gets close to the winning number. No matter how skilled a player you might be, you will still be at a disadvantage if you choose the wrong turn, because an experienced casino Roulette player may be able to sense your intentions and make a change in his playing habits before you do. No matter what type of casino you visit, chances are that at least some of the other players at the casino will be familiar with the rules of Roulette, and it will not be difficult for you to learn the rules and how to play the game.
As previously mentioned, most of the time, a Roulette wheel is drawn up on a separate card. A Roulette wheel that has been spinning for a long period of time will eventually stop working. In order for the wheel to stop working, there must be at least one of the wheels tied, or touching, by contact. However, this does not mean that the other wheels are useless, and even if they are not spinning, they can still be useful to you as you learn more about Roulette.
